My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Goofy! Goofy is a bluetick coonhound mix who is about one year old and weighs about 50 pounds. When Goofy was a little puppy, his owners loved him and kept him in the house. But when he started to grow up, they chained him in the backyard... to a tractor... that hasn't ran since '71! Goofy got really lucky when his owner decided he couldn't take care of him anymore and listed him in the newspaper as free to a good home. That's how Goofy got to us and now he is ready to be adopted by you!

Goofy is a happy guy who is dying to run and play. He will jump on you, knock you down and steal your sammich! Goofy is looking for a family who will provide him with the basic training he missed out on the past year of his life. He's dog friendly and loves people and is sooooo good looking! Goofy has the personality and potential to be an awesome dog!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
