My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org
By definition, my name, Dawn, means "the start of a period of time or the beginning of something new"

I am a German Shepard/Miniature Husky young lady who has reached the "age of reason" for doggies of 6 years young!! No chewing up your shoes or accidents in the house that you might have with a younger dog!!! But, don't let the chronology mislead you; I am an active girl of medium to high energy that enjoys hiking, jogging, and adventure. I am full of joy of life and am a human oriented doggie. My optimistic outlook on life and happy smile is contagious.

At 37 pounds of intelligence and love, I am grateful that I have the opportunity to find a new furever family. It seems impossible, but I ended up at the shelter on "death row"...through no fault of my own!! I was rescued on my final day by Foster Mum and am loving my life outside bars. How does something like this happen to a "Good Dog" like me?

I get along great with other dogs and would do great in a family with other doggies or in a single dog home.

I am very engaged with hoomans and love everyone. My super friendly and outgoing personality will win you over!! I walk well on the leash, come when called, and know how to "load up." Additionally, I understand a lot of "Hooman Speak" and am always focused on my person and listening intently.

Perhaps we should take my name as a "hint" that we should "begin something new"; please fill out an application and adopt me today!!
