Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Josie is a hilarious goofball with the widest grin, and she brings out peoples' smiles with her adorable face and silly antics. She is also a total cuddle bug whose ideal day consists of snuggling with her human, doing zoomies on the furniture with her canine best friend, and pretending she's still shy so she can get tons of her favorite treats. Good luck getting off the couch/bed after a snooze with this heated, weighted blanket. She's pretty sure work and errands are baloney because it means her person has to stop giving her neck scritches. Her smile is very convincing; her foster mom has been known to put off grocery shopping an extra hour or more because she can't say no to that face.
She hasn't interacted with any cats yet, but her foster mom thinks she'd become friends with them with lots of positive reinforcement and slow introductions. Little kids might be too scary, but calm older kids would be loved by her. Josie is a careful watcher and listener with those big ears and soulful brown eyes, and once she's decided she trusts you, she will be forever loyal. Josie is estimated to be two years old and 30 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dog's make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
All dogs have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, treated for fleas and given heartworm preventative. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 1000 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
