Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oscar is not quite the grouch his name implies, but he does have his moments. This (very!) big boy has definite opinions on things, and doesn't hesitate to tell you about them.
Oscar is a social boy, who likes being around people and exploring new places. He likes attention- but on his terms. He likes being pet, and ear and neck scratches are a particular favorite. However he doesn't like being carried or picked up, and when he decides he's had enough, he's really done with you for the moment. He is very talkative. He tells you when he wants more food; he likes to meow about what's going on; and if he doesn't like what you are doing or he's tired of you, he will meow, and you don't listen he will give you a smack.
Oscar came to Cameron Animal Hospital with a persistent skin infection. He has been diagnosed with environmental allergies, and although the infection was cleared, he is currently receiving steroids daily to prevent the allergies and infection from recurring. Any potential adopter must show an extensive veterinary history, and an ability to manage these health issues.
Oscar likes (ok, loves) to eat. When he first arrived he weighed more than 22lb. Through careful management and a prescription diet he has lost weight, and is now a healthy 17.5lb.
Because Oscar can be a grouch, he would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Oscar is also very particular about other cats and dogs, and generally thinks he should be the center of attention.
