My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mesquite is a happy, energetic dog. She would do great as someone's first dog. Mesquite loves getting attention, and is very playful. She is funny to watch run around, and her ears have their own personality. When the wind catches her big ears the right way, she looks like she has airplane wings! She loves feeling the grass on her back and tummy, and loves it even more when you rub her belly. She also does really well if you take her for a run- she would be a great running buddy!

Mesquite is very smart- she has figured out all of the treat-dispensing toys her foster mom keeps around. She is super food motivated, and learns very quickly what you expect from her. You can tell she tries so hard to please: Ask her to sit while you walk up to pet her and she will, but her tail is going 100 mph and you know she's using all her self control to do what you've asked!

Please go to www.homesforpets.org and complete an adoption application if you would like to learn more about Mesquite.

Mesquite has been spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated.

More about this rescue

We are a group of animal lovers who volunteer our time and talents to help homeless needy pets find new homes. Many of our pets come from life or death situations, or abusive situations. Some pets come from city shelters. We also list animals that are still with their owner, but for one reason or another the owner can no longer keep them. Our dogs and cats live in foster homes, not in a shelter. You don't have to wonder if a dog or cat is good with kids, or other dogs or cats. You will usually know if they are. We work on housebreaking and basic manners as well.

ALL of our animals, even those we list for owners trying to re-home their pets, must be spayed/neutered to help control the serious animal overpopulation in this area.
