Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Klaus is an adorable brindle chihuahua mix who was born in September 2014. He weighs about 7-8 lbs. Klaus ended up at the shelter after his family was evicted and they left him behind in their home. He was adopted out twice from the shelter and returned for being snappy before he came to our rescue. In his foster home, Klaus is a happy and lively little guy. He is good with the other dogs in his foster home, both big and small. He loves to play! Klaus is not great with cats – he likes to chase them. Klaus takes quite a while to warm up to new people and will be snappy if pushed. He strongly prefers women to men. The best home for him would be one that is fairly quiet, with no small children, and maybe with another friendly dog he can play with. Klaus is housebroken, but he does mark in the house when he is stressed, and he is crate trained. Klaus has the potential to be a very loving and loyal companion for the right person.

We require an application and a home visit prior to all of our adoptions. We do adopt out of state, and may have a representative from another rescue complete the home visit for us. Once the home visit is completed and approved, the dog is available for you to adopt! While this sounds like a lengthy process, it actually is often completed in a day or two. We have an adoption contract that is filled out at the time of adoption, along with adoption fee's collected at that time.
Our adoption fee's are
Under 1yr: $250
1yr to 9yrs: $200
10yrs and up: $150

We are a nonprofit, 501(C)(3), all volunteer, limited admission small dog rescue organization funded by private donations and adoption fees. We are a group of individuals who are dedicated to rescuing small breed dogs who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or left behind by their former owners. Our belief is that companion animals are living beings who are not merely "pets" but family members. We strive to find homes for them who share this view. We are committed to providing them with a temporary home where they receive veterinary care, including spay or neuter, socialization, exercise, love and good nutrition until their forever home can be found. We do not discriminate against small dogs based on breed or physical disability.
Mini Mighty Mutts is a limited admissions rescue. We can only take in as many animals as our foster homes can safely and responsibly care for. We do not euthanize animals to make room for more. We simply stop taking in new animals until we have room. Each homeless dog will remain in our care until he or she finds a new home.
