My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skip is a handsome lab/pit mix who would love to meet you! He has a great smile, which spreads across his cute face when you give him pets or throw his ball. He is affectionate and endearing and loves to play! He is very strong on a leash and will pull especially hard if there is something to chase (like a rabbit).

Skip is very picky about canine friends, so a doggie companion would need to be a specific match — most likely a large dog who is calm, confident, and keeps to themselves.

𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀: 12+ yrs, he likes to roughhouse
𝗗𝗼𝗴𝘀: highly selective
𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘀: not a good fit

He can be seen at the main ranch facility. For further inquiry please email dogswmr@gmail.com

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
