My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carmen is one of the Ranch`s long-time residences who is yet to find her forever home. She can be very shy when it comes to meeting new people and likes to approach people at her own pace. Once she trusts you, she will want to be around you all the time! She loooves water and enjoys standing around in the kiddie pools to cool off in the summer. She is a little selective about the dogs she enjoys being around and tends to prefer the company of submissive females. She would do best in a home without kids and a tall fence since she has some incredible `hops`.

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
