Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE YOU INQUIRE ABOUT ERNIE: Ernie just got back from his vet visit and everything is looking good! Ernie is a Yorkshire Terrier and is believed to be between 1 & 2 years old. He is 11.8 lbs. He was found wandering about a month ago as a stray. He now has his 5 way vaccine, rabies shot, is HW negative and neutered. Ernie is great with other dogs....just loves to play, play, play! He does chase the cats, but only playing and has never tried to hurt them. He LOVES squeaky toys and will carry them around with him any chance he gets. Laser pointers are also one of his favorites....this dog can track that light! Ernie also sleeps with us every night and never gets out of bed....when he is sleeping, he is OUT! Ernie is not yet house-trained, but we have been working on that. I am hoping the neuter helps. I keep a belly band on him most times in the house. He is such a sweet dog and has not met a stranger yet. Good with kids, men, dogs and cats! If you think Ernie would be a great companion for you and your family, please email savingdoggies@yahoo.com for an adoption application. This is a courtesy posting for an individual who needs to place this dog. Ernie's adoption fee is $250.
Our adoption procedure is as follows:
* Email the foster person and ask for an application.
* Submit the application to the foster person
* Application will be reviewed, personal and vet references will be checked
* A phone call to the potential adopting home may be made and/or emails sent with further questions.
* Home visit scheduled and completed
***Rescue Alliance DOES NOT ship. It is the responsibility of the new adopter to arrange pick up.
Rescue Alliance does not adopt out to homes with unaltered pets, homes with invisible fencing or children under 10 years old. If you are interested in this furbaby, email the foster coordinator at savingdoggies@yahoo.com for an application.
Rescue Alliance is a group of foster homes across the country with no specific shelter. We do not have a specific shelter for folks to visit.

Are you aware that dogs do best when they aren't alone? Dogs are pack animals and really do best with another dog around while their pack leaders are at work or out of the home. We strongly suggest that folks have another dog for the new rescue to be a companion with. Senior or adult dogs make GREAT 2nd dogs. No chewing, usually potty trained and there is always an abundance of them. Have you considered adopting a senior? It's very rewarding and most senior small dogs live to be 13+ years old!

Please note: We do not adopt out young dogs to senior citizens but will be glad to take your application for a senior dog!
