Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mia is a beagle/jack russell mix who is 17lbs, about 1 year old and full of spunk, attitude (hence the face in the photo...like "what mom? Another photo, ugh!), and cuddly love!
Mia’s favorite things are cuddling with her people, going for walks and playing with the other young crazy small beagle pups of the house. While Mia does well with other pups, she can be a little on the bossy side and she tends to bark a lot while playing, so she would need a pup sister or brother that can handle her mini alpha girly attitude. Also, since she is young, she can be a little nippy when playing with toys and pups, but we are working on this.
Mia is house-trained with a doggy door and fenced in yard, but could adjust to a daily walk schedule with someone that has the time to give. Mia does go into her crate without fuss during the day with a treat as incentive. Mia loves treats and food, so she is easily motivated when we work on basic training at the rescue house.
Mia would do well as an only dog or with another friendly pup that is well-trained and can help her learn how to dog in her new home. With her people, Mia tends want to be in your lap or in your face getting kisses…though she likes to nap by herself on the couch while rescue mama works. Mia loves children, but we will not adopt her out to a family with very small children as we do not want an accidental nip while she is playing to turn into a bad situation for her. At the rescue house, Mia loves to snuggle up in bed with her rescue grandma or in a dog a bed near her at night, though we believe she would be easy to crate at night with a little treat incentive.
