Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Taz
Taz is an adorable Mix Breed Pup, estimated to be about 30 lbs, and 2.5 years old.
Taz had been transferred to BAARK Dog Rescue from another group, because we are foster-based and are able to provide the one – on – one attention Taz has needed. He joined the previous group as a feral dog (unbeknownst to them), and was terrified of people but of course loved to be with other dogs.
Our goal has been to work with Taz to develop trust and confidence. While he has made great progress, he is still very hesitant and scared of many things and people, especially those that are new to him. He needs a forever family that understands his past, is willing to take things slowly, and work with him on his terms. We know Taz has the potential to develop into a wonderful family dog, and lifetime companion.
An ideal family for Taz is one that is overall quiet without a lot of activity and noise in the home, that would completely overwhelm Taz. Because of his love of other dogs, another dog or two is very important as well. He also LOVES to be outside in the sun, running and playing in a secure fenced yard. Taz also is a bit of a barker particularly at things unfamiliar to him; his new family would need to be tolerant of his vocalizations!
But most importantly, Taz needs a family that is patient, loving, kind, and able to continue to build Taz’s confidence and trust, on his terms. At present, Taz is a wonderful companion but is not a cuddler.
An all adult family may be best for Taz, but older children who are calm and gentle may be fine as well.
Taz is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative/on year round heartworm prevention. He is taking a veterinarian-prescribed CBD chew daily to help with his fear/stress. Taz is housebroken too.
If you are interested in adding Taz to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
