My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allegra is an all natural, sweet, loving and energetic three year old. Like most Dobermans, she doesn’t quite know her size (glorified lap dog!) and we’re not sure if she knows her tail is attached to her body. She loves to run in the backyard and is always smiling, thus having earned the nickname “Bubbles” in her foster home. She is timid with new people and takes a little bit of time to warm up, but once she does she’s the typical velcro Doberman.

She is crate trained and thoroughly enjoys it as her safe place to decompress. Her foster family is working on her leash etiquette, yet she can still get riled up with aggressive dogs behind fences (who doesn’t?!). Allegra is a “dog dog” meaning her forever home must have another dog who is energetic and ready to play. In our limited experience, she does well with cats and kiddos. She sits, stays, shakes paws, eats a bunch of fruits and vegetables, loves meal time, going on walks, car rides, and playing in the snow and water, and (gently) hunting lizards. Allegra would be happiest in a family who hikes or goes camping often and encourages her to play in rivers and lakes encountered along the way.

Allegra had a trauma at some point in her young life where she sustained injuries to her hip and front left paw. Both have been corrected by surgeries and she is ready to find her forever family!
