My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m excited to introduce myself! My name is Camber, but my foster family also calls me Cambie and Hippocambie (like hippocampus, they think they’re funny). I am a typical Weim and am my foster mom’s shadow. I enjoy going for car rides and will sit or lay down in the back seat. I would prefer to be with an active family. I enjoy running around the backyard and playing fetch. I’m skilled at bringing the ball right back to you to throw again and again. I also love going for walks. I get so excited when anyone grabs my leash that I do a little happy dance before snapping to attention to get my collar on like a good girl. I’m still learning not to pull on the leash when walking, but I want to introduce myself to every person and dog and crosses my path. I’m good with school-aged kids. My foster sister is ten years old, and I thoroughly enjoy walking to pick her up after school to get lots of love from every kid who passes me. My foster family always tells me and everyone they meet how sweet I am. I love to give nose kisses by sticking my nose right up to yours and staring into your eyes while you pet me.
I would love to cuddle with you on the couch, lay on you, and of course, have you rub my belly. My foster family lets me sleep in their bed, but I usually prefer to sleep in my bed right next to them. I have been spoiled with having my foster family around all the time, so I’ve never been left home alone or had to be put in a kennel. However, I will occasionally lay in my kennel while my foster mom is teaching as long as I have my broccolini with me. Broccolini is my favorite squeaky toy that I carry around the house. I’m very protective of it and don’t like anyone else squeezing it. I want to be the apple of your eye, so I need to be the only dog in the home. I will growl at other dogs who take attention away from me or if they come too close to my food. I am vocal and will let everyone know when I hear a loud noise outside (like garbage trucks) or see someone pass by the house. I also whine when my foster parents leave the house and when they get back because I’m so excited. I am very kind and think I will make a great addition to your family. The application to adopt me is on the huskerweimrescue.com website. Will you be my forever family?
