My story

Hello, I'm Ruby. I am shy girl that is a sweetheart once I warm up to you and to my surroundings. I was a stray kitty that had been abandoned by my previous owners and was wandering the streets trying to find safe places to hide and also find food. These super nice and amazing people found me one day outside of their home and started to take care of me, feeding me, giving me a safe and warm place on their porch to sleep, and hide if I needed to. I slowly but surely came to trust them and we became great friends! Unfortunately, they are not able to keep me at this time and so they did the best thing for me and surrendered me to SFOF. They made sure to let them know all my likes and dislikes, my personality, they even remembered to bring my favorite toys(an acorn and string toy) so I would be more comfortable with the transition. I will always love them and be forever grateful they found me and cared for me for so long, I know they love me and would have kept me if they could. Now, I am looking for my forever family and home so I can settle in and live a happy and love-filled life. I can be pretty shy at first, but if you go slow with me and let me tell you when I'm ready for more interaction, I will start to trust more and then you'll see how sweet and affectionate I am. I don't know how I'd do with kids or dogs since I can get scared easily(you'll have to talk to SFOF about that), but I get along with other cats as long as they aren't rough with me. I'm a gentle soul and would prefer a calm and quiet home to settle into. I like to play, I'm still young and energetic, but I had a rough life before and want to be able to just be peaceful in my new home with my new family.
