My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Diesel a solid black 3-year-old, 85 pounds, that is handsome, kind, and patient 'Sweetest, happiest, nicest boy ever' is the title he deserves! He has a beautiful shiny coat with longer hair, but he does not seem to shed as much as labs usually do. Diesel weighs over 85 pounds and should weigh the most 75 pounds definitely need to lose at least 10 to 15 pounds and already started to. Diesel gets along with dogs and cats and loves people, he would be best in a home with adults due to his enthusiasm for life and desire for relaxation plus his love of food! Diesel is completely housetrained and he will go to the door when he needs to go out. This sweet boy is crate trained and sleeps well in the crate or where ever you prefer he does, although, prefers not to be in a crate and rather crawl in a bed beside you if allowed. He is fine roaming in the house while away, and he does not bother or chew anything. He loves people especially and follows his person from room to room. He greets enthusiastically when you get home and enjoys playing, cuddling, and watching TV with you. He likes to eat, so he doesn't need to be overfed and should be fed separately. He is treat motivated but should be given strictly for obedience training and no other times. He will occasionally take a peek at what is on the counter, but a simple no is all that's required. Diesel is fine in a car and likes to ride. He enjoys exploring in the backyard and playing but his very favorite thing is to be with his human. He does tend to pull when on a leash and he is extremely strong, so he needs someone that can handle a strong dog. Diesel is very smart and knows cues like; sit, shake, speak and lay down. He does not do well confined in a room or small area so will do best in a home with a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member he can pal around with. He prefers not to be crated, but will go in one if absolutely required. Diesel is a loving and very quiet boy with a wonderful temperament. He would do great with any couple young or older or a single partner provided they give him the exercise and attention he needs and deserves. This happy boy would love a family that can give him their time including him on family outings and activities. The top of his priority list would be to have a family member who is home most of the time. He is well mannered and not a barker at all so the person could be working from home. He does require a large fenced-in yard since he is not fond of dominant-type dogs. He would also enjoy on occasion playing and socializing with dogs his size, older kids or teens; the more to love but would enjoy a home as an only dog to receive all the attention and rightfully so. Diesel is fully medically vetted; neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and on prevention plus microchip. He does suffer from seasonal allergies it appears thus far so during those times he is on 16 mg of Apoquel daily. He does not suffer from hair loss or yeast infections.
