My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ronnie is a 3-4 year old Pitbull. She was found by the river as a stray with Sammy. We don’t know if she’s Sammy’s Mom or if they met by chance and decided to be best buds. She was in very bad shape when we found her. Judging by the injuries her poor body was riddled with, she didn’t have a good life before she ended up with us. Despite what she went through in her earliest years, she is still the sweetest, most loving dog there is. Sammy may be the only dog she gets along with, but people, she can’t get enough of. She loves everyone she meets with all she’s got.

More about this rescue

It all began late one evening when Meredith, founder of LCAR, watched John, co-founder, pull into the driveway with an unexpected passenger. There she sat in the front seat, as tall as she could possibly get, so she could look out over the dashboard. It was love at first sight. That’s when Roxy went home with Meredith and John, becoming the first of many, many rescued dogs, cats, and horses that were yet to find their way home to the ranch.

Lucky arrived soon after. She and Roxy were thick as thieves from day one and roamed the ranch as if they owned the place. Well, they did actually own the place!

Several dogs have shown up on the property since then, appearing as if out of thin air. They must have heard of the ranch being the place to be if you had no place left to go.
