Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available in Atkinson Maine
Scout is a high energy 3 year old boy who is looking for his very own person to love and a home where he can belong. He is the epitome of a Velcro Aussie. Scout needs a special home where he is the ONLY pet. In return, his adopter will have the most loyal and devoted companion ever.
He needs a fenced yard where he can run and play. His fosters think he has a lot of potential for agility or other structured performance dog sports with appropriate training. Even search and rescue work. He has been working on his leash skills. He is reactive to cars and strange people he meets on walks. He’s learning to sit until
the vehicle or person passes by. A rural setting or quiet, low traffic neighborhood is a must.
Scout has some anxiety issues and needs a lot of exercise to work out his energy. He is a big, strong boy and needs a strong leader who will provide structure and boundaries.
Without enough consistent activity, he will channel his frustration into digging.
He is housebroken and is well behaved in the house. He is not however crate trained and is anxious about jumping in the car. His big drawback is his high prey drive. He absolutely cannot be around livestock… chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, etc. He is not a fan of cats. His adopter will need to be willing to continue the training that his
foster has been working on. Scout wants to learn.
His ideal adopter will have an active lifestyle and the time, patience
and commitment to help Scout be all he can be.
Scout is being fostered in Central Maine. One or more meet & greets will be required to ensure a good fit. Scout is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. Health record will be provided.
If you think Scout is a good fit for you, please fill out our application:
