My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Katie
Breeds: Beagle
Age: Senior
Gender: Female

Sweet Katie is a senior Beagle with a heart of gold. She came into the shelter skin and bones emaciated. In fact, they weren’t even sure she would survive. She survived, gained weight, showed her beagle woo-woo, and then another blow…she tested positive for heartworm disease. A senior in a shelter with heartworm has almost no chance of making it out alive. The shelter workers were determined to not let Katie fall into that statistic and they begged for her life. How could we say no to this little fighter who stole the hearts of an entire shelter, who despite all she has been through is full of wags and beagle bays, who loves her walks and has a happy dance for food? We couldn’t. Katie is a tiny (10-15 lbs) old girl who is looking for her retirement home with lots of walks, food, and love. She is housetrained and crates well but does have the beagle bay when she has something to say so needs a home without shared walls. The shelter guessed her at about 8 years old but we do think she is older at about 10-12. However, we don’t know for sure….a lady never tells her age, I guess! If you are a beagle lover looking for an old gal with a fighting spirit and a loving heart, please check out Katie. She is heartworm positive and has been treated. That treatment is covered in her adoption fee. To read more about heartworm treatment visit: http://headinghomek9rescue.com/Heartworm.pdf

Requirements: Home with yard space. No shared walls

Adoption Fee: $350 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing if appropriate, deworming, microchip, and current preventatives
