Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Live alone? Looking for a furry kid who could serve double duty as a companion and house protector?
Copper is amazing with his immediate humans. Loyal, affectionate and loving, Copper gives the best cuddles and hugs. You will find him cuddled up to or lying beside his humans when they are home. When they are away, Copper will claim a couch as his throne and lay there contently until his humans return. Copper loves to accompany his humans on outdoor adventures. Car rides, walks, hikes, parks, zoomies in a fenced area, running, being playful and silly are some of his favorite activities. He looks forward to meeting a few new 2 and 4 legged friends along the way. Kids, dogs, cats, everyone is a friend <3 Inside his home, Copper goes into protective mode. Everyone who walks through the door will be subjected to Copper’s approval. Most times than not, he does not approve of guests. He is anxious and nervous when strangers are moving about his house. He feels he needs to ‘herd’ them by nipping. We recommend crating him or keeping him tucked away in a room with the music on and a frozen kong to occupy his time when there are guests over. With Copper’s protective drive, you are surely safe from any intruders!
Copper is a 4.5-year-old Mountain Cur mix. He is house and crate trained. Copper knows basic commands, listens well and is very smart. Copper is looking for that special family who understands him, his breed traits and shortcomings. Copper is not for any family. He is best fitted for a family who does not entertain much, does outdoor activities, but understands that if they were to have guests over, Copper would need to be crated or tucked away safely.
