My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Requirements: Experienced dog owners only

If you are looking for a companion/best friend who loves to walk in the woods, visit the beach, as well as cuddle in the evenings, I am your man. My foster mom says I am good 98-99% of the time but do tend to get pushy if I really want something. This is when my herding skills kick in. She keeps talking something about genes, but I do not get it. I do not wear jeans. I am easily corrected with a strong firm "NO". Sometimes, when I know I have done something my foster mom disapproves of, I will place myself into time out and sit in my crate while I "reflect" upon my actions. When I feel ready, I will come sit down next to her and go belly up hoping she will either forgive or forget. I love puzzles, especially ones that distribute treats. Other types of toys not so much. I do not mind working for my food. I like showing off my tricks (sit, down, leave it, shake, sit pretty, place, almost have spin down as well) I believe bunnies, birds, and squirrels do not belong on the ground and will chase. I like walks but only in familiar territory (unless on the beach I love the beach, especially if no one else is around) or else I might forget my leash manners. Other people are ok if introductions are slow and proper. I rather they ignore me until I become comfortable. I see other dogs around and I am very interested but my foster is afraid I might play too aggressively so at this time will not let me meet them until I have perfected listening and following commands with distractions. I really would like a home that establishes clear boundaries, stimulates my mind and soul, and is patient and helpful while I continue to work on me. I might be a good running partner but need to improve my endurance. Did I mention, take me to the beach?

Compatibility:
Dogs: Yes, with proper introductions
Cats: Unknown
Kids: 12+ years old
