Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hank is in a foster home in Tacoma, WA. Please be available to meet him near the foster home.
Hank, 5.5 years old, 58 lbs, neutered male, Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix. Hank (at the time his name was Al) came to us when a networker asked if we could help find him a forever family. He had been living at a boarding facility and we helped find a match for him in Oregon. Unfortunately his adopters have decided they are not the best fit for Hank, so we are working to find him the best match.
Part of the reason to re home Hank is the adopters had a very small yard and believe Hank would benefit from more space to roam around. He loves to run, chase after balls, frisbees and keep squirrels and other animals out of the yard. He really enjoys going on walks. He has a tendency to pull which can be easily corrected with some leash training.
Hank is the kind of guy who enjoys a calm environment. Too much activity can get him overly anxious and no one likes that feeling! He would do best with one or two adults and kid(s) who are not overly energetic. He does not enjoy people invading his space without him feeling comfortable. Hank is definitely full of energy and would love people to play with him. He's also happy to lounge while you do yard work or make dinner. He's also great at watching for any suspicious activity outside the house :)
Hank is currently in a home with one 8 year old kid. He loves snuggling and hanging out with her. As stated earlier Hank will thrive in a calmer environment.
Hank would do best as an only dog. Other dogs make him uncomfortable and he's not sure what to do with his nervous energy. His current foster has done some positive reinforcement with him which has definitely helped him feel less anxious when seeing/passing four legged friends.
He is house broken. He does not love to be kenneled and think he's more scared/afraid of it than anything. He has done fine left out in the house unsupervised.
Hank is moderate energy and would LOVE an active home. We are hoping with more physical activity this will also help with socialization outside of the home.
Hank loves his people and enjoys hanging out with them, cuddling and taking long naps on the couch. If you're looking for your best friend, look no further than this goofy boy.
We have no history with cats, but believe based on his behaviors he would not do well with a cat.
