LILLY was used as a breeder dog and did not have a great start to life. She and around 20 others entered a crowded shelter system in Texas after being confiscated from a hoarding case . Lilly was about 25 lbs underweight and terrified of people, but a terrific mom to her 4 pups (Tony, Talia, Waylon & Harvey). While you could see every one of her ribs, all of her puppies were fat & healthy. She is now on monthly flea & heartworm preventative, spayed and back to a healthy weight. While her body has healed, her spirit needs some more time. She is very slow to trust people but has gotten along with every animal she's met. She doesn't pay attention to cats, chickens, goats, horses or donkey but she loves playing with dogs. Lilly is a sweet girl, takes treats gently, and has just started coming up to get attention. It took a few weeks before her tail started to wag, she makes small steps every day, and will make a fantastic dog for a patient & experienced adopter. She will need another friendly dog in her forever home. She is terrified of leashes and will flatten to the ground, so needs a secure fenced yard. She needs someone who can work at her speed. She deserves it and so much more! Lilly is a Saint Bernard mix that weighs 76 lbs and was born approximately 1-26-17. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventive. Adoption fee is $50 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
