Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Otis may look like a stoic, regal and serious dog, but that is a PSYCHE! He is quite the clown and is all about finding mischief and fun wherever he can. He is young and likes to party, so he doesn't always display his politest manners. He is very outgoing and likes to greet new friends with a jump (we're working on that...) and can be very sweet and affectionate in a boisterous, rowdy way.
He has been working on his manners and citizenship skills while with us and will need to continue when he goes home, as he likes to test his person and will take every inch he is given. He will do best with a confident (yet friendly) leader who can appreciate his energy and antics. He is curious, intelligent and highly trainable.
This player is also super fun, active, energetic and will make a tremendous partner for someone who is the same. His athletic potential as well as best friend potential abound in equal measure. He would probably like it a lot if he could make you laugh while he is at it.
Otis came to us via the High Sierra Animal Rescue in Northern California where he was surrendered by his original owner because he had too much energy. He was described by the rescue as: wiggly, silly and friendly. He was released from our training program because he was not comfortable working in our physically challenging environment (rubble piles and disaster scenarios).
If you are looking for a playful buddy with the vim and vigor of a large silly puppy, Otis is your man!
Otis is 2 years old and weighs 63 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
