UPDATED BIO: 11/2/2009: Harry here! I am 10.6 lbs and 6 years old. I have adapted SO WELL to having only 3 legs. You should see me run and jump. My friends at the dog park call me an inspiration! I don't know what that means, but I think it's a good thing. There's not much new to report here except that I guess I'd appreciate a laid back doggy companion and maybe a fenced in backyard. I just LOVE to run. Also, I am trying to learn doggy etiquette, but sometimes I don't understand when other dogs are very eager and super playful with me. Maybe nobody ever really played with me before. I do like to run, chase, and be chased. It's so much fun!

My FM dressed me up as a spider for Halloween. She said I could use a few extra limbs. Isn't she silly? Don't I look cute? Well, I'm still waiting patiently for my FURever home. Could it be yours?

UPDATED BIO 10/17/2009: Harry here! I'm 6 years old and weigh 10 1/2 lbs. That's actually how much I weigh without my leg. It's pretty much what I weighed before my rear left leg was amputated (long story, read below), but I was kinda scrawny then. Now, I'm getting so strong in my right leg. My FM tells me muscle weighs more than fat, and I'm really becoming a little Beefcake!!

Well, I got my staples out yesterday along with my stitches from my noo-ter. I was a good little boy. I also got a booster shot (ouch!) and am ready for my FURever home. I made FM send some new pix of me so that you can see me having fun in the backyard RUNNING around on my three legs. I love to run. I spent the day chasing a Rottweiler all around the yard. I had so much fun. :) Don't think that just because I only have 3 legs that I am disabled or anything. No way, not me! I'd love a doggy playmate, but I'd do well as an only dog too. I also wanted FM to tell you that I am 100% housetrained! Yup, no accidents here! I did mark a little the first day (oopsie) but never since then.

Oh, one last thing, FM says she loves me very much. I am what she calls an "easy foster" and am just as happy going for a walk as napping as playing with toys (which I'm just getting to learn to play with.. fun!). She works all day, but I don't give her a hard time. I nap the whole time anyway! Well, if you wanna go fill out the application for me, now is a good time!

UPDATED BIO 10/09/2009: Well, do you want to hear about the day I had on Tuesday!!?? My special doctor, Dr. Lucy, tried to fix my broken foot. I went to surgery like the brave little boy I am. Well, when she got in there to get a better look at the problem, she said my whole foot was infected. (GROSS!) She couldn't believe I wasn't in more pain. (I told ya I was brave!). Well, I had to say bye-bye to my leg. I also had to say bye-bye to my testicles. Geesh. Rough day.

So, I am recuperating with my FM. She says since I've been walking on three legs for so long, the transition hasn't been too bad. I was in lots of pain at first, but now I feel a whole lot better. I'll be ready for my new home soon and can't wait to choose my new family. I got a hairdo before surgery to help make me nice and clean (before I was rescued, I had lots of ticks, and FM thought I deserved a fresh start). FM said not to touch the ears since they're kinda my signature feature. Well, they gave me a mohawk! Cool, huh? Now, I'm a rockstar dog! If you want to have your very own rockstar dog who rocks out on 3 legs, let FM know, ok?

ORIGINAL BIO 09/28/2009: Hi! My name is Harry. I'm the newest kid on the block to be rescued. I am a 6 year old 10.5 lb boy. FM says I'm a Yorkie Mix. She thinks I'm mixed with a Maltese. That would make me a Morkie. I have a funny haircut right now, but I told her that once my face grows in, I'm gonna look a LOT more like a Yorkie.

Well, I am a little guy with a BIG problem. See, nobody adopted me at the shelter. FM went there the other day to meet Andy (another boy up for adoption). When she saw me she thought, "Hey, that's a Yorkie!" and walked over to my cage. That's when she saw my leg. The look on her face said it all. She had hoped that someone would look past my obvious flaw and see me for the dashing young boy I am. (I think I'm quite dashing). Fast forward to today, and you can pretty much guess what happened. Today was my last day. Though she was there to pick up Adonis, she came over to my cage to see me again. When she saw that nobody else was going to take me home, and that she was my only hope, she broke me outta there.

So here's the scoop. My rear left leg is deformed. It appears to have been broken at one point in time, and it healed crooked. There is a very good chance that I am going to end up a "tripod." FM was worried that nobody would adopt me with only three legs. I told her I only walk on three legs as it is, and there are LOTS of people who love tripods! We run, play, jump, and pretty much do everything else those 4-legged pups do. We adapt (and hopefully ADOPT!) very well. We're not sure if it's going to come to that, but if it is, I want her to be prepared. She seems like a nice lady, and I don't want her to worry.

Well, here comes the awkward part. See, this whole tripod thing is likely to cost a bunch of money. FM is kinda stressed about it. Any way you could send me a few bucks? $5 will do. $25 would be better! She says if you send a donation of $25 that she will send you a thank you card from me with my pawprint signed on it! Doesn't that sound worth $25?
