Hi, my name is Stella Rosa. You may recall hearing my name...I’m famous for the recent litter of 10 beautiful Aussie mix puppies. All of them found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I’m 1 1/2 to 2 years young and weight 40 pounds.
Due to my high energy, I would do best with a family that has a lot of time to spend with me, a large, fenced yard for me to run, and has patience to continue working on my manners and training. I recently learned what dog cookies are and I have learned to sit for them.
I’m a little shy when meeting new people and can sometimes be a little nervous around men (except for my foster dad, I think he’s awesome). Once I learn to trust my person, I like to be close by and will give lots of kisses.
I’ve recently learned what toys are and like to carry them around. (Although some of the toys don’t last long, if you know what I mean). I also really like food...I mean all the food. Foster mom calls my love for food “resource guarding”, and says I need to be fed separately and even given treats separately from other dogs. It would be good if my new family understood dogs like me who think all the food should be theirs.
I am 99.5% percent potty trained but will still have an occasion accident. I will scratch at the door or ring the bells to let you know I need to go out. I will ring the bells so often you will think the ice cream truck is near by because I just love being outside.
I have a great sense of hearing and want to investigate every noise I hear. It’s my job to alert you of anyone at the door or passing by, and I have a lot to say about it. (I’m working on not barking quite so much).
After I’m comfortable, I like to play with other dogs. I love my foster cat, Luke. We share our treats at times and we like to play. He tolerates me chewing on him.
I have used a crate but don’t really need one. I’m good being left out with my foster siblings when mom leaves. I like to sleep on a dog pillow next to your bed at night or occasionally will jump on the bed.
I wear a harness when I’m on outings and need to work more on my leash training. I do love car rides and like to go often.
