Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adoption pending!!!!Want one of the best dogs you will ever meet? Look no further, Buddha is your guy! He was surrendered to a local animal control. His owner became homeless and was living in a car. Buddha is one of those Heinz 57 dogs that charms everyone he meets and will be the "best family dog" talked of for generations. We know he's not the flashiest of dogs but he more than makes up for that in personality. He is outstanding with children, adults, cats and dogs ~ a true canine good citizen. He is housebroken and has great house manners and clearly, was a beloved pet. He bonds easily to his family/person, is calm, yet super happy guy . He is still playful and loves toys. His breeds were a complete mystery so we did his DNA it’s added at the bottom of his bio. He is 52 lbs., neutered and ready to start his new life. He also knows basic commands and takes treats very gently. He would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. He does have some separation anxiety.
Sadly Buddha has some health issues. He takes several medications and his life expectancy is about 4 more years. At 7 years old that’s an average life expectancy.
As you may know, black dogs with health issues have virtually little chance of adoption but we took him in anyways. He's just too special and we know his new family or person is waiting for him, and they won't care that the biggest of hearts often come wrapped in plain packaging. You won't regret giving this boy a chance ~ he's a great, great dog. If you think you can give Buddha a lifetime of love, care and gentle guidance, please submit the required application (via www.animalheartline.org). Because we are a small group of caring volunteers and a home visit is a requirement of adoption, local adoptions only please (i.e., within 50 miles of Aurora ). Buddha is fostered in the suburb of Aurora . Buddha would do best in a home with another dog or cat for company.
