Introducing Carly! She is an intelligent 7-yo brindle pittie. She is ~45 pounds, spayed, housebroken and knows a lot of cues. She likes other dogs and gets along well with the German Shepherd and border collie mix in her foster home.
Carly has had a rough past. She lost her home when her mom passed away from cancer. The family could not keep her and asked a rescue to find her a new family. Unfortunately, this rescue locked her in a cage and she never saw the light of day. Thankfully, Wish Upon a Rescue stepped in and saved her.
Carly’s past has not dampened her love of life or spirit. She is very playful and animated. Her favorite sports are catching a frisbee, chasing a ball or going for a walk. She has just the right amount of energy. She also enjoys laying in the sun or on your couch. She is rated the #1 snuggler in her foster family. She enjoys attention and will lean in for pets.
Carly likes to play with toys and her foster siblings but can occasionally be bossy with them. She would do great in a home with other dogs but not cats. She requires a slow introduction to new people but once they’ve fed her a treat or two, she becomes their best friend. She requires a fenced-in yard since she will chase squirrels. Carly also can be a bit over excited with treats so it’s not recommended she lives with very small children.
Carly is food motivated so it’s easy to teach her new things. She knows sit, shake, out of the kitchen, “not for dogs”, time for bed and many other commands. At night, she is in a gated area and happily sleeps all night without a peep. Carly is well behaved and can generally be left alone to roam the house while you’re gone during the day.
Carly would love to make her way into your family! She is a fabulous companion.
