My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These dogs are being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Stella and Tucker
GENDER: Female (Spayed) and Male (Neutered)
AGE: Stella is about 6 years, Tucker is about 7 years
WEIGHT: Both are about 6 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should do well with older, mature children (10 and older)

Meet Stella and Tucker. Stella and Tucker are Chihuahua / Yorkie mixes. This bonded pair loves to play, sleep and cuddle. They both have sweet souls and are looking for a family who will love them and nurture them as they grow up together.

Stella and Tucker were an owner surrender when their family situation changed, and they could no longer care for them. The family wanted them to stay together and reached out to CRT to see if we could help. We were happy to bring them into our program. They are a great duo, and we are committed to finding a forever home where they can stay together.

Stella and Tucker are happy, well-adjusted dogs. From the moment they stepped into their foster home, they acted like they had always been there. They had no anxiety or nervousness at all. Stella and Tucker get along well with the other small dogs in their foster home. They enjoy playing with their siblings. Stella and Tucker also enjoy toys. They enjoy toys of all kinds, but their favorite is the tug-of-war rope. They will play and play with it. They also enjoy it when their human throws toys to them. They will run to get them and bring them back for another round. Stella and Tucker enjoy being out in the backyard. This spring weather is allowing them more trips outside where they show their joy by running crazy 8’s in the yard! When these siblings are done playing, they crash for a nap. You can often find them snuggled together in the same bed with their heads laying on each other!

Stella and Tucker love their family. They love to hang with you in whatever room you are in so they don’t miss any family fun. When you are ready to relax, they are ready too. They both love to cuddle. They will both climb up next to you and share your love. They love belly rubs, and their soft coats remind us of soft cotton. Note that sometimes as they are following you around, they can get close to your feet, and thus be a tripping hazard.

Both Stella and Tucker are super smart. They are almost completely potty trained. They do well going potty outside as long as their family keeps them on a consistent schedule. We occasionally put a belly band on Tucker to as he has at times marked in the house, but this is diminishing weekly. At night, these siblings sleep together in a doggie bed in their x-pen. They both enjoy daily walks. Tucker is the adventurous one and loves to walk at a brisk pace. Stella tends to walk at a “stop to smell the flowers” pace. LOL.

Stella and Tucker are both Chihuahua Yorkie mixes. They came from the same parents, a year apart. Tucker is about 7 years old and Stella is about 6 years old. They are both about 6 pounds. Tucker has a little darker coat and Stella has a creme colored coat. We love their fun coats! We know they are very bonded and we will be adopting them together so they can spend their lives together in one family.

These siblings are both adorable. We think they would do better in a home with a yard. They will alert when they hear strange sounds. So they are not be a good fit for an apartment where noises are more magnified. They also love to explore and run in the yard – it is their happy place. Both Stella and Tucker love people and would be a good fit for any active, fun household. There are no children in their foster home, but we believe they would be great with older, mature children 10 and older.

Stella and Tucker have sweet personalities. We are looking for a family who will adopt them together as they are very bonded. Open your heart for a lifetime of love and companionship with this pair.

Stella and Tucker are being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If they sound like the new best friends you’ve been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Stella and Tucker are spayed / neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. They are ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

These dog are CRT rescues. Reference checks, adoption contract and $649.50 adoption donation required for the pair ($300 adoption donation and $24.75 Texas Sales Tax for each -> $649.50 total). Note: as of 1-1-20, the Texas State Comptroller office is requiring all rescue groups to collect sales tax on adoptions, even though we are all 501c3. We are all fighting this, but for now, have been told it is non-negotiable.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
