Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shiloh was a stray puppy in south Texas. She, her litter mates and her mother were found by a nearby resident after they were hit and injured by a vehicle on March 30, 2021. A sibling and their mother did not survive, but Shiloh and her two brothers were rescued by a dedicated team of volunteers only a day later. Shiloh was found with scratches on her body and had a very difficult time standing and walking.
While her cuts healed, we soon found that her inability to walk with ease was due to a condition called Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD), a developmental disease found in some large breed puppies that causes inflammation and pain in their limbs during their puppy years. This condition can be treated with a carefully controlled environment, limited play, jumping restrictions and anti-inflammatory medications. Thankfully, Shiloh is more of the cuddling type. She is extremely sweet, gentle and would thrive with the right family.
