Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Javi is in a foster home in Burien, WA
Javi, 2.5 years old, neutered male, 58 lbs, pitbull.
Javi has played with dogs off leash his size and they played well. He does have some leash reactivity when walking him and he sees other dogs. With proper introductions, Javi would do well with another dog.
No cats- we think he would attack them
We have no history with kids and recommend a home with kids 10 years and older
Javi is an extremely loveable big goof. He loves ALL people. He is not always aware of his own size and can easily knock things and people over!
Javi needs an owner/family who will set boundaries for him. He needs a confident handler who can continue working with him on leash. He currently has a tendency to pull and needs support in learning to walk calmer. This will also greatly reduce and eliminate any leash reactivity.
He is house broken but does not like to be in a crate. He will need some training to de sensitize the crate and make it a happy place. He does not destroy it, but will bark.
Javi has moderate energy and loves to walk and play in the yard.
He has shown some separation anxiety which can be alleviated with crate training and boundaries. He would benefit from structure and reinforcement of those rules.
Javi is HIGHLY trainable, sweet natured and loves to hang out with his people. He is food motivated which makes training a little easier. He loves to lay on the furniture so hope you are okay with him lounging on the couch.
He wants to hide when he hears loud noises and we can only assume what’s happened in his life before he came into rescue.
Javi is an incredible dog who with some consistent boundaries and structure will be even better!
Experience with a bully breed will be extremely helpful. He needs someone who is patient and will calmly work with him. We will also cover two training sessions with an agreed upon trainer to help with his transition to your home.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
The first step in our process is filling out an application. We will review your application as soon as we are able- there are two of us and we do the best that we can. We review applications on a first come first serve basis and look for the best fit/match for the dog and applicant.
