My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED!
Balto is a sweet, playful and loving 2 year old, Malamute/Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever home!

REQUIREMENTS (applications that do not meet requirements will not be responded to)
- Fully fenced, 6ft+, large yard outside of the city
- Family that is not gone long hours or has staggering schedules
- Northern breed experience
- Adult only or kids over age of 12

Balto is super friendly and happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Balto walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will needs owners who can handle his size and strength.

Balto does good with other dogs and came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. No cats or small animals for him. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home. And he would make a great adventure buddy!

Balto is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs visit our vet for a health screening, are spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
