Kimmie is safe back in IBR land. She is just precious!! A hobbity hobbit from Boat Mountan for sure. She is a petite little GSP/Pointer mix about 20 inches at the shoulder and a little pudgy. We got some bad advise 2 years ago about her positive serology testing for Ehrlichia and Rocky Mountain spotted fever and she is finally being treated with antibiotics altho 2 years over due.
Kimmie is very sweet but lacking a lot of confidence. Hopefully once she adjusts back to life in a quiet foster home we'll do a better job finding her forever home. She seemed fine with the 3 Pointer boys in her new foster home and felt very safe snuggling on the couch.
Kimberley is a Hobbit sized German Shorthaired Pointer/ Pointer mix. She found her way to the same shelter we pulled so many Pointers and Setters out of almost 3 years ago. Please read about the Boat Mountain Tragedy here.
She could even be Serafina's long lost daughter. She is a typical Hobbit- small in stature- but not small in personality! She was adopted out for a short time- but through no fault of her own needs to come back into foster care. She is one of the most PRECIOUS GSP/Pointer hybrids we have ever brought in. We anticipate many applications for her as we did before.

Due to the fact that these dogs have come from shelters or abuse or neglect situations, and unless we have tested these dogs on upland birds and feel they are confident and ready to work as a hunter with families where they will be trained with kindness and patience, we will only adopt to pet homes.
All adoptions include vaccinations, deworming, microchips, spaying or neutering, collar, leash and an information adoption packet. All IBR dogs are crate trained, housebroken, socialized with other dogs and loved on by their human foster parents. Adoption fees are used to cover vetting expenses and special need dogs' vetting care. Our adoption guidelines also require non-smoking homes and safe fenced in yards.
If you are interested in adopting this pet through our rescue organization, please fill out an online adoption application.
Shop for custom calendars, mugs and T-shirts at our Café Press fundraising website and choose merchandise featuring Pointers, Setters, Hunting Dogs or Friendly Mutts. All of our calendar stars are rescued dogs that would have been euthanized in shelters across the Mid-West had IBR not stepped in to save them. Your support does make a difference!!
Check out our new Ebay Store with fundraising shirts featuring several birddog breeds like Pointers, Setters, GSP's, Vizslas, and Labradors . All purchases will help off set our high vetting expenses and may also help pay for food for some of our long term senior and special needs foster dogs in rescue. Please click on the Ebay icon for more info.

Make a donation or sponsor a homeless dog. Illinois Birddog Rescue has always prided itself in not turning away any sick and injured dogs; animals that most shelters would have euthanized. We have saved many dogs with heartworm, tick borne illnesses, broken legs, missing legs, blind dogs, a new deaf puppy, dogs suffering from Parvo and especially senior dogs that may need expensive health care to help them get ready for adoption. In February of 2006, in one weekend, we brought in 20+ dogs from the Boat Mountain Tragedy, and that depleted our emergency funds. Please help us continue to help those birddogs that have suffered terrible abuse and suffering by making an online donation here:
Your donation will not go unnoticed. In addition to helping save lives, when you donate your name will be added to the Illinois Birddog Rescue Donations and Rescue Sponsor List.
Visit the IBR Home Page and browse our new online store to find out the many ways you can shop for the dog lovers in your life while helping homeless birddogs.
