Millie is one of our dogs that has been through a lot. Previous to her Grey Face rescue, Millie had been severely neglected, which led to untreated dental abscesses that became so severe, that they created open and painful wounds in her face. Because of Millie's neglect, it takes her some time to develop trust with new humans. Millie's perfect adopter would be patient and kind, and have a quiet home. They would allow her to acclimate slowly, and give her lots of bacon and love.
Once you have gained Millie's trust, she is a very sweet and low maintenance dog. She really loves being pet, including ear and butt scratches. Millie also loves walks, and sniffing around, and did we mention bacon? She is perfectly potty-trained and does well left out to explore during the day. She is a pretty quiet dog, but she will let you know if a stranger or other dog is outside. She has the cutest little "awoo" whenever she is left alone, just so you don't forget about her. Millie is very unsure of other dogs and cats. Her initial reaction is to growl and keep them as far away from her as possible. We are recommending a home without other pets.

Our dogs receive heartworm and flea/tick prevention the first week of each month, March through November. Dogs that have stage 3 or 4 dental disease will receive a dental procedure in rescue. We aspirate all lumps and remove those that our veterinary partners suggest removing.
Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable).
$50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and bordetella), HW test, blood panel, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.
