Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bean aka Bouncy Bean or Jumping Bean is a fun-loving, joyful and playful pup who loves people, toys, and fun in equal measure.
She is a mixed bag of: cute + beautiful; playful + serious; affectionate + aloof; German Shepherd + Chihuahua. What--wait--Chihuahua? Only 7% percent, but still, can you see it in her? She also has some Spitz and Staffordshire Terrier, but really she is mostly German Shepherd (note the ears!)
Bean had a rough start in life. She was found dumped in a garbage can and taken to a shelter. She got adopted, but her adopter ultimately determined that she needed more attention and stimulation than they could provide. Calpaws K9 Rescue (a volunteer group serving the Bay Area) took her in to help find her a home that could provide an extensive exercise and training outlet for her exuberance and that, ultimately, meant Search Dog Foundation.
Once she got here, however, it became clear, that our work was not for her. She was too sensitive to the environment to have the focus we need for search training and she wasn't as in love with her toys as much as we thought. She loves to fetch but she doesn't LIVE to fetch.
Bean is a nice dog that has the potential to be a nice companion. She will need some continued training and management to help hone her manners, but she is very intelligent, willing to learn and loves to do new things. She is all about having fun and is not shy about showing it or talking about it.
She is energetic, athletic, healthy and fit and would make an amazing dog sport partner! She will be an amazing companion for an active household looking for a dog to love and have fun with. Bean would like to know--you can come out to play?
