My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duke was brought in to the local shelter where we pulled him after no one came to claim him. He is the sweetest pup ever. He is a senior and unfortunately was heartworm positive. He has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccines. Due to age and other factors, he is getting some meds and slow treatment for the heartworms which we hope will take care of it and make it better for Duke. He is great with kids, other dogs of all sizes, and has been around horses, goats and cows and showed no interest. He walks great on a leash and does fine in a crate. He doesn't chew and loves his stuffed dog which he believes needs to go out to potty when he does. I would love for Duke to have a home of his own if there is a FOSTER out there that would consider foster to adopt. He is working on jumping up (to hug) and he can't hold his licker, but I have NO idea how to stop this, He is a love bug though and will be your best friend.

***NOTE Duke went on a home visit and was interested in their rabbit, which is not caged. So do not recommend those. Duke did seem a bit attached to the people more than the dogs, while he hangs out with the dogs we have. I am thinking his best fit would be a family with no dogs or one other dog. He may have been abused or abandoned and his fear of that needs to be reassured.
