Say hello to Balto! Balto was a street dog. He had been living on the streets since he was a puppy, as evidenced by his appearance. Despite his former crappy life, he is a lover. He loves kids, other dogs and every person he has met. A special 14 year old girl put out a plea for rescue help for this boy. She wanted to see him get a better life, where he was loved and treated as a cherished family member. Thanks to our foster, Allison, we were able to help this gentleman get off the streets.
He looks to be a Husky mix. He weighs 42 pounds and is estimated at 2 years old. Being a street dog, he obviously had some pretty bad skin issues. He is taking his medication like a champ and he's starting to feel and look much better already. He walks nicely on a leash and loves playing with the foster's dog. He has been curious but has done fine with the foster's cat. He is house trained, crate trained and leash trained.
Balto would do well with a family with a fenced-in yard to run around in. As a former street dog, he is prone to wander otherwise. His foster is working with him on his recall. We would love to see him with a family with another dog to play with. He absolutely loves other dogs and will play with anyone. He is super sweet and friendly with all ages of people. This guy is an absolutely gem of a dog!
Balto's adoption fee is $650 (that includes GROUND transport to the Seattle, WA area). Balto has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped so he is ready to go! Balto is currently in his foster home in Oklahoma City, OK and will remain there until adopted.
