Update: Mowgli has been saved. He was operated same day and all his wounds are now healed. Updated photos are posted. Mowgli is ready for his forever home.
Original story and background:
Mowgli was rescued with massive wounds on his back legs. He needed urgent help or he would have lost his back legs. We started a fundraiser for him months ago and we asked everyone seeing this post to intervene and help us save this dog. Fortunately, we managed to collect the funds needed for the surgeries needed to clean and stitch his wounds. He went through an emergency operation and he was saved.
Mowgli was rescued from Lytle Creek in the county of San Bernardino. He was found laying between the trees with a green collar on him. Mowgli was found with huge cuts in his front and back hind legs and it seems that he was engaged in a dog fight where other dogs attacked him before his owner decided to abandon him in that area and far away from people. Our volunteers who rescued him said that Mowgli might have been dumped there for at least 4-5 days since he is extremely dry and skinny. Marks of dog teeth are on his skin and deep open wounds are all over his back and front hind legs. His wounds are infected and have a lot of green discharge coming out of them which suggests that he was attacked at least a week ago. Mowgli is extremely malnourished as he did not eat or drink for days. By inspecting the teeth of Mowgli, he appeared to be around 2 years of age.
Mowgli received all the care he needed until all his wounds healed. He then received full shots of vaccines + boosters. He was also operated for Neuter. He also received deworming medication and Flea& tick control medication.
Now Mowgli is ready for his forever home. He is good with people and other dogs. He does not like cats. He is cuddly and playful.
