Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cooper is a sweet 9-year-old Chorkie (long-haired chihuahua/yorkie mix). He weighs 11.8 pounds. Cooper is so happy to be out of the shelter. He is being fostered in Spring Hill, FL.
Due to Covid-19 dogs being fostered in Florida must be adopted within the state of Florida.
UPDATED BIO 03/31/2021: Cooper is doing great in his foster home and continues to show his appreciation and excitement about being out of the shelter. He has been groomed and is oh-so-handsome and he must feel so much better after having all the mats and tangles in his shaggy hair cut off. He saw the vet who commented that he looks great for his age of 9 years old.
Cooper has recently seen the vet for a dental, and while he was under anesthesia, the mass on his left rear foot was removed - it was sent off to be tested and it was benign - hooray! Because Cooper initially came in with a limp on his right rear leg, radiographs were also taken to determine if he had an something going on, but nothing was found in his knee/hip/spine. Great news! He is currently taking glucosamine for joint support and will probably need to be on that for the rest of his life. Cooper is ready for adoption!
Cooper is so loving and sweet and gives lots of kisses. Foster Mom reports that Cooper will go to his brand new doggie bed when she tells him its time to go to bed and sleeps through the night. She said he is such a good boy who enjoys being with his people.
Cooper's surgery/radiographs/histopath were expensive. The people in his previous life have already let him down, and UYR provided him the medical intervention/surgery he needed. In order to continue to rescue little medically-needed dogs like Cooper, we are asking for donations to go towards his vetting expenses. All donations are appreciated and UYR thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE APPLYING FOR COOPER:
- Cooper has let his foster mom know that he prefers to be the only dog in the home
- Priority will be given to potential adopters with a fenced-in yard since Cooper is a runner.
