My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alby was pulled from the shelter on what was scheduled to be his euthanasia day.

An Adoption Application can be completed for him at the following link.

Texas Tailwaggers Adoption Application

Alby needs a foster home while awaiting adoption.

He is a happy dog who loves to run and play and also enjoys personal attention and being petted. He gets along with the other animals in his foster home not showing any signs of aggression over food or toys.

This fella's a smart, inquisitive guy and is curious about everything...very aware of his surroundings. He knows "Come", "Sit", "Lay Down", "Off", "Get It", "Give", "Drop It", "That's All", the difference between a ball and a toy, "Leave it", "No", "Good Boy", "Food" and of course, his name. He is still receiving reinforcement in these new commands and is learning how to walk nicely on a leash. His favorite activities are chasing and retrieving a ball or frisbee and playing with or snuggling with his blankies.

He is crate trained and potty trained to the door, can ring a bell there for attention and also uses a doggie door. He goes out and does his business and immediately wants back in with the family. He is NOT a yard dog unless his family is outside. He wants to be with his family.

Alby is estimated to be less than two years old, is up to date on all required vaccinations, is heart worm negative and on preventative, is neutered and microchipped.

Alby needs an active home and a family who will enjoy having a pet that will actually PLAY with them. Alby will make a great companion for a family or someone who takes daily walks or runs or wants to compete in Agility.
(Example of Agility at this link with one of our other adopted dogs, Aspen)
Video on YouTube of Aspen's (large white and black Grt Pyrenees and Husky mix) class in progress.
Alby would love this kind of activity and desires to be with his family and participate in their life.

If you believe that your home would be a wonderful new forever place for Alby, please complete our Adoption Application

or email

so that we may send you an application to complete and return to us.

We ask anyone adopting one of our dogs to complete an adoption contract which includes a home visit by one of our volunteers.

OUR ADOPTION FEES:

Our adoption fees vary from $180 to $350 depending on each dog's medical needs, vet care and other expenses while in our program. This may include spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, micro chip, heartworm test (and treatment if necessary), deworming , plus all food, hw prevention, flea/tick meds, and other supplies needed in foster care until adopted.

Your adoption fee helps save homeless dogs and place them with new loving families. We are a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers and funded by your contributions.

All new dogs in our program get to visit our veterinarian for complete checkups, required immunizations, heart worm tests/treatments, spaying or neutering (if necessary), and any medications prescribed by our veterinarian. Adoption fees cover vet costs and pay for food, care, and "lodging" while staying with us.
