My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jackson! He's a very cute guy who didn't have the best start in life. He was not properly socialized when he was young. He's a bit unsure how to direct his energy and still acts like a puppy much of the time so he will need a strong pack leader and experienced and knowledgeable owner. He has been in training in his foster home, but we would like to see him continue training and classes. He has picked up on coming to his foster mom for direction when he isn't sure what to do. He does fine with well-mannered dogs who are confident, happy and laid-back. He seems to do better with dogs smaller than he is. He has done well with the foster's cats - he couldn't care less about them. He is a squirrel watcher and chaser. He checks all the trees first thing when he goes out....he’ll watch one and follow it from tree to tree. He has never gotten one, but he enjoys the chase. He has done well meeting people that come to visit and that give him time to come to them if he isn’t warmed up right away. He is extremely food/treat motivated. Due to his size, we would prefer no small children in his home, as he will knock them down - calmer teens would be best for him. He prefers a set routine and a quieter home and does not do well with a lot of chaos as it makes him anxious. Jackson is approximately 2 years old and weighs 54 pounds. We believe he is a Staffordshire/Boxer mix, but he is probably a mix of a bunch of different breeds.

Jackson's adoption fee is $350. He has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped so he is ready to go! Jackson is currently in a private foster home. As such, we can only schedule meet-and-greets with approved adopters. You must fill out an adoption application prior to asking us to schedule a meet-and-greet.
