My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Needs An All-Adult Household
• Unsuitable With Cats
• Best As An Only Dog
• High Exercise Needs

Johnny is a sweet boy who loves lots of attention. He bonds well to his people and listens well when he’s with them inside the house. He knows how to love and be loved! Johnny enjoys spending his time napping, looking out the window, and going in and out. Outside, he’s a go-getter, and he needs a safe place to explore and run and let his nose work. He chases the ball and brings it back — sometimes! He is fond of carrying a ball around in the yard and in the house.

Johnny has had his DNA tested, and according to the results, he is a mix of Springer Spaniel, cocker spaniel, German shorthair pointer and lab. So we can see why he has all that drive!

Although Johnny likes to go for walks and gets excited when he sees the leash, he is still learning to walk well. When he’s on leash, he is quite reactive to other dogs, so his new family must understand this and be prepared to work with him on this behavior.

Our boy will go into a crate, but it’s not his favorite place, and he whines when he’s in there. His foster family has had good success with a larger pen area, so that is where Johnny eats and sleeps. He goes into the enclosure easily and waits patiently to get out. However, he does prefer to sleep on the couch or floor rather than on the dog bed in the pen.

Johnny lives with a canine foster brother, but he doesn’t like to share toys or people, and he really wants to enjoy all the attention for himself. He also does not like to have his paws touched. Therefore, an all-adult Forever Family with no other pets will be the best fit for Johnny.

This handsome, energetic guy is ready to have a Forever Home he can call his own. His perfect family will be one that can give him the attention, training, and security he needs in order to be the best dog he can be.

If you think that Johnny would be a good fit for your family, please submit an online Adoption Application. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
