Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi my name is Holly. I am a 5 year old, beautiful tweenie-sized longhair black & tan dapple girl who weighs in at 14.8 lbs. I was rescued from a life of breeding in PA & recently gave birth to my very last litter of puppies. Now that the pups are ready to be on their own, I'm ready to start my life as a cherished pet! Amazingly I'm well socialized with both people & animals. I seem to love everyone & everything although I don't think I'd like to live with very young children on a full-time basis. I do well with other dogs, although I don't really know what to do with them at this time. I am learning how to play with my foster brothers though & do like to have other dogs around for a companion. So far I haven't paid a bit of attention to foster mom's cat, so I will be ok living with a cat. I'm house-trained in the respect that I haven't had an accident in the house, however I do not know how to tell you I need to go out (I'm sure once I consistently go out the same door, I will pick it right up). Foster mom just takes me outside every couple of hours when she's home to see if I need to go. I sleep well in a crate, although you will have to initially tell me it's time to go to sleep so that I quiet down (within minutes of bedtime I'm silent & sleeping). Of course I'd much rather sleep in the big bed with you, if that's allowed. I am also crate trained for when you need to leave the house, I will curl up & sleep until you return (OK, I might cry a bit while I know you are still in the house because I want to go with you). I would likely do best with someone who isn't gone for long hours & wishes to spend lots of time loving on me. I'm currently ok to be left in my crate for approximately 8 hours while you are at work, but I'd prefer no longer than that please. I promise to follow you everywhere & give you my love. When I went to the vet, we found out that my puppies were not actually weaned until I left the shelter on 10/31, so I am unable to be spayed for at least 2 months. However, if I find my perfect family within driving distance of my foster home, I can go home on a spay contract, with the understanding that I will either be returned to foster mom's vet to be spayed, or that my adopters will be responsible for my spay & will receive their deposit back, along with some money towards the surgery (ask foster mom for the details). My adoption fee will be $225 + a refundable $50 spay deposit. If you are interested in adopting Holly, please click here to fill out our Adoption Application.
