My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our precious Leila! Leila is 10 and joined Kodi’s Club when her owner surrendered her to a shelter due to a huge tumor on her right hind leg. Despite her condition, Leila was spunky and sugar sweet so we made the decision to have her thoroughly examined. We crossed our fingers and prayed that she could be helped. Luck was on our side! The mass was a soft tissue tumor that did not touch her bone and not a cancer that spreads. Due to its size Leila needed that leg amputated, but in true Leila fashion, she took it in her stride and has become 99% independent.

Leila would love a quiet home where she can be petted and loved on by her humans. Leila asks for nothing, she is a gentle, kind, independent girl. While she is good with other dogs, we prefer she only be with small dogs so she doesn't have to be worried about being knocked over. Cats are fine and she is currently fostered with 5 who she basically ignores. Older children only who can respect her physical limitations as a tripod. We would also like a one floor home with only a few steps to the outside. A fenced yard is also a stipulation as Leila loves being outside sunning herself.

In the words of her foster mom, "She loves her tennis ball, rolling in the grass and watching out the front door. What she loves most is YOU! This girl is looking for a home where she can get all the love, roll in the grass, play with her ball and eat. She’s super easy just needs one floor and very few steps. No hikes, long walks or busy schedules…. Just pets and love! We love her here but I do think she would love a home easier to get around!"

If you have the environment and love she would enjoy, our application is at www.kodisclub.org . We must receive an application to determine if your home is a match.
