My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brady is a mellow and laid back character. He is a get along kind if dog that is grateful to be included in whatever activity or adventure you're doing. He really enjoys car rides and will happily accompany you wherever you'd like to go. He is quite confident and sure in himself! Although he is calm, Brady is extremely strong and knows how to use his weight to get what he wants! He's definitely got a stubborn streak! We are working with him on not pulling full steam ahead towards birds, an open door and other things he wants to get his paws on.

The great news is Brady learns incredibly fast! Since being here we have taught Brady a bunch of new obedience commands. He will proudly "sit" and "wait" at doorways when we ask. He will also make eye contact with us when we say "look". Brady has excellent recall.. he will turn around on a dime when you call out "Brady, come!". What a good doggie!! Handler Nick taught Brady how to "give paw" too!!
Brady boy is also learning rules of the household like politely hanging in the kitchen while we eat lunch without jumping to grab our food.

Brady seems to really enjoy the company of playful, female dogs and not so much with assertive male dogs. He's great friends with little Opie and is incredibly gentle with her. Brady loves to play fetch and zip around the yard in long, graceful strides. He is just stunning when he runs at full speed! Brady is also great friends with our Homie Elle <3.

On walks he is curious and ready to explore.. even with his laid back nature, he will still gladly go for a long walk or hike! He will always alert us if there is someone new or a delivery person approaching with a deep, profound bark. He is especially wary of larger mail trucks. This loyal boy will definitely let you know if someone is coming to the house unannounced. While he is so loving a sweet, he has the awesome protective instincts of a shepherd but he's in a lab body! We realized that Brady loves to carry different objects in his mouth and walk around with it. He seems to take his job of carrying things in the mouth very seriously! He sometimes tells us to back away if we go to take the object away. We, of course, listen to him and offer him a yummy treat in exchange and he happily obliges!

We recommend Brady goes to a home with kids aged 14 and up.
