My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DARLING SNICKERS has all the WONDERFUL, typical combined characteristics and needs of a Vizsla AND a Labrador Retriever! Deeply loyal, high hunting/prey instinct, wants to be with and be loyal to his human family ALL the time.
SNICKERS sports that rare, gorgeous, flat coat of a solid golden rust color (“russet”) with no undesirable undercoat. Considered “wash and wear”: with very low grooming needs, almost never barks, never drools or snores, energy needs for at least 45 minutes of intense exercise a day, social/attention needs, LONG LIVED! (Expect a good 10-14 years!) HIGHLY intelligent requiring an intelligent owner, training and activities to engage the brain (thus preventing possibilities such as chewing, digging, escaping, etc.)

This is a solid, medium size, (about 50 lbs.) active, strong, sporting breed dog who does extremely well with active hunting, hiking and other outdoor activities that do NOT interact with other dogs or smaller, potential prey animals. (ie: absolutely no exposure to cats, rodents, birds, reptiles, no dog park, etc.) This is NOT an apartment or small space dog! It has an ancient history going back to protecting families in central Europe during the Dark Ages, an excellent companion and hunter to the Magyar warriors and Hungarian nobility.
This dog EXCELS with normal daily training; new owner must begin with professional trainer. Consequently this combo-breed MUST have adult family members at home and not be left alone. It is a quiet breed: will protect its family if necessary, but is mostly happy resting alertly with master/mistresses after having had daily exercise. Will do very well with standard daily “Pacer” treadmill training! Recommend that potential adopters familiarize themselves with the all the traits and needs of BOTH breeds then follow progressive course of direction of recommended professional training organization.

IDEAL HOMEOWNER will have all adult household, good sized yard, be active,.be an experienced lover of solid sporting-breed,COMPANION dogs, ready to continue training this intelligent, affectionate boy!
