Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I'm Kai! I am an 8 year old female Australian Shepherd. I am your typical Aussie who loves affection from her people and loves to play. My favorite game is frisbee and also getting pets and belly rubs in the morning.
Kai is a sweetheart but she is also very fearful and anxious of new people and can get stressed when in new places. She can take some time to warm up to strangers and patience is required to gain her trust. When uncomfortable or scared, Kai defaults to barking until settled or removed from the situation.
Kai's person is going have to work on managing her when out on walks as she can bark at other dogs and people. Sometimes she does well but she can get worked up and bark.
Kai lives with two other dogs and has shown some traits of resource guarding food items but does not resource guard with her people. Kai would do best as an only dog but seems to do well with cats.
Kai's ideal home would be with someone who is experienced with shy or nervous dogs, is willing to train and would be around more often than not. Kai will be going to the following home consisting of (no exceptions):
-Kai needs to be the only dog
-Quiet home with little visitors
-No apartments
-No young children
-A home where barking will not be an issue
-Everyone in the household is on board to follow through with training and managing her
-A calm environment
Kai's human/humans need to be herding dog savvy, experienced and understanding. Kai is a total sweetheart and someone will be awarded with a great dog under the right circumstances. Kai is UTD, spayed, microchipped and HW tested. If you would like to learn more about Kai and she seems to be a good fit for you, please fill out and Adoption Application.
