My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"NOVA" is a beautiful German Shepherd/Border collie mix female who weighs about 55 lbs. Nova has the best characteristics of both breeds. She is smart, alert and devoted. She is affectionate and enjoys being close to you, getting pets and snuggles, but not overbearingly so. She is playful, but not over-the-top energetic or rambunctious. Nova walks pretty well on a leash, not pulling, but will need more consistent leash walking for it to become second nature to her. She can be slightly shy at first, but warms up readily. Nova likes other dogs, but seems to prefer sweet, slightly playful, submissive and kind females. (Her best friend is a very nervous but sweet girl named 'Bailee'). Overly rambunctious males make her nervous and agitated. Nova would be great in virtually any home, however, very young children might make her nervous, so a home with kids over the age of 6 yrs old would be best.
NOVA is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
