If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application
Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
Koda is one handsome pup! He is medium sized, has the most gorgeous coat, and he's full of personality... He will kick his feet in the air and scratch his back all day. Just kick, kick, kick! It's pretty cute to watch. When he's not on his back, he loves crawling on his belly to get those good scratchies in. :D Koda knows his manners, is housetrained, great on a leash, and super gentle. A friend to kids and dogs, Koda is definitely a gentle soul that's friendly and accommodating.
Koda does have one quirk though... You remember when you would have that nightmare when you had to give a speech and was either naked or threw up in front of everyone... Yeah, Koda vomits when he's nervous. He was found in rural Alabama and kept in a shelter for a bit which absolutely terrified him. Koda and the shelter environment were not a match. He was crippled with anxiety so one of our fosters pulled him and that's when we learned about his quirk. We tried everything; exploratory surgery, stomach biopsy, bloodwork, medications... But Koda is still a little puker. It's not constant but we highly recommend his new furever family have stock in Bounty :)
Yes, we know Koda has a weird quirk. But he is SUCH a loving pup and has the sweetest personality that we hate to think no one would open their home to this little guy. He loves hanging outside with his family (both 2 and 4 legged) and is great inside too. He's not destructive, and super polite, he just vomits when he's nervous. If you’d like to add him to your home, please apply.
