Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Saber🐾❤️🐾
As some of you may remember, Saber is our most recent rescue.
Saber’s owner had reached out to us with a desperate plea to take him because they were moving and he had to be “out before the weekend.” They mentioned he had a limp from playing in the snow, but we were told that he was otherwise in good health.
We took him in knowing there were no other options. Unfortunately, we quickly realized that Saber was in SEVERE pain. We suspected this limp was due to some type of trauma rather than playing in the snow as we were originally told. After being seen by our vet, our suspicions were confirmed, and the vet believes he was most likely hit by a car.
Saber had surgery to repair his tibia which was broken in multiple places. The good news is, Saber is recovering nicely in his foster home, and he is now available for adoption! He has his two week check up next Thursday, and his suture removal. For the next 6 weeks, Saber has some restrictions for a successful recovery. He is not allowed to play with other dogs and he needs to be leash walked only. No running or jumping until his leg is fully healed.
Here are some additional details about Saber:
🐾 He Is as sweet as can be despite the pain he just endured!
🐾 9 years old.
🐾 Weighs about 50 pounds.
🐾 Kid friendly but may be best to keep him away from children until his leg is fully healed. Once he is fully recovered he should be fine with kids!
🐾 Cat friendly! Lived with several cats in his previous home.
🐾 Dog friendly! He does seem to be a bit on the dominant side, so best with a submissive dog.
🐾 Housetrained.
🐾 He is not destructive at all in the house. Very well behaved.
🐾 Saber follows his people around and wants to be wherever they are! ❤️
🐾 Neutered, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Important Notice 📝
We are primarily a Pit Bull 🐶🥰rescue and we require the following because its whats in the best interest of our dogs:
✴️Experience with bully breed or large breed dogs; we love that you want to adopt, but we believe we are not the right rescue for first time dog owners.
✴️Home ownership ~or~
✴️Renting in CT from the same location for a minimum of three years and letter from your landlord stating you are able to own a dog without restrictions on breed, size, or weight. Please note that out-of-state renters are not eligible for consideration.
✴️No babies or toddlers! Sorry! We love our kiddos just as we love our pups and we want to keep both safe at all times. We understand that Pitbulls are often the best breed with children—the “Nanny Dog” as they are known, but with so many variables involved when it comes to young kids and dogs, we always err on the side of extreme caution. This now applies to all of our dogs, (regardless of breed), even when listed as “good with kids.”😊
❇️As a result of our limited volunteer capabilities, once your application is received and reviewed, regretfully, we’re only able to respond to those applicants that have been determined to be the absolute best fit or best match for the dog. We apologize that we do not have the ability to reach out to every applicant.
❤️❤️❤️
All of our dogs are rescued from within the state of CT and fostered by amazing families located in the state of CT. #adoptlocaldogs
