Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Boaz! This adorable boy is ready to find his forever home, and he wants his new family to know these 10 things about him:
I am a bit mysterious when it comes to my breed: some people think I look like a Cane Corso-Great Dane Mix, and other people think I might just be a very lanky Corso. Either way, everyone agrees that I am a very handsome boy.
I am 4 years old and I tip the scales at about 130lbs. When I stand on my back feet, I am over six feet tall! The people that cropped my ears did a terrible job, so they look a little silly. I’m hoping that my new people will love me anyway!
I can be nervous when I encounter new situations and people, especially men. A home that is willing to work with me on building confidence, and that will give me plenty of time to warm up to new people and situations, would be the best fit for me.
Although I do like to play, I honestly prefer a calm and laid-back environment. An active adult-only home would be ideal, but I think I could live in a home with children over 13, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.
I’ve mostly only met larger dogs, but I think I could get along almost any female dog over 60lbs. As long as my new owners were willing to give me a proper introduction to their pups, and fed us separately, I believe I could happily live in a home with other canines.
I’m not really sure how I feel about felines, but I DO sometimes like to bark at the barn cat here at the sanctuary. It’s possible that I could learn to be a friend to felines, if we are allowed to meet slowly and with supervision.
The words that best describe me are sweet, goofy, and affectionate. My favorite things are eating, sunbathing in the yard, and hanging out with my people.
I don’t like it when you leave me alone outside, because I’m not sure that you’re coming back. My new family will need to have a very tall, very secure fence around their yard, because I am likely to escape and try to find you. I think it would be best if you could walk me on a leash or make sure I’m supervised when outdoors for the first few months.
I am housebroken, crate-trained, and I know how to use a dog door. I am also perfecting my leash skills more and more each day!
I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.
Ready to give Boaz the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at www.bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
